Filiz Toprak Esin’s practice is focused on corporate and M&A, competition law and anti-corruption and compliance matters. Filiz’s practice covers not only advisory and transactional matters but also contentious issues. In addition to advising the clients in relation to Turkish legislation, drafting and negotiating their agreements, Filiz also represents clients before Turkish courts and administrative bodies.

In Corporate and M&A, Filiz has been assisting clients from different industries starting in daily transactions from their incorporation in Turkey until their liquidation. Filiz has been involved in numerous M&A transactions and assisted clients in preparing and negotiating share transfer and shareholders’ agreements, and carrying out closing and post-closing transactions.

Concerning competition law matters, in addition to her consultancy and training expertise, she is representing clients about any projects before the Turkish Competition Authority -including M&A notifications, exemption applications, dawn raids, commitment and settlement applications and oral hearings- as well as any administrative court actions regarding decisions of the Competition Board.

Filiz has broad experience in compliance matters including anti-corruption and white collar crimes. She has assisted various major multinational clients in their fight against corruption and provides preventive advice about their compliance process. At the same time, she represents executives of clients before relevant authorities and courts regarding white collar crimes related investigations and court actions.

Filiz graduated from Law Faculty of Galatasaray University in 2006. She completed her LL.M in the Netherlands, Leiden University. She speaks English, French and Turkish. She is the Board Member of 6th and 7th term of Ethics and Reputation Society (Etik ve İtibar Derneği – TEİD) and co-president of TEİD Diversity and Inclusion Working Group and TEİD Healthcare Practice Group. She is also a lecturer of TEİD Academia.
